|Wow….CNN hammering the phoney in the WH.|
|Dear fantastic followers of mine,
I have added a few more poems so the list is now at 33. There are a few more I need to include and have to edit. These deal with Vietnam…..memories and nightmares…..and I think they are important enough to me that I want them included. So, will be hard at it in the next 24 or so to get them to where I feel comfortable. But, the question is, do I ever feel comfortable? The answer is NO. I am constantly looking and rereading to see if I can make my writing better. That is why I fall asleep at the computer and then Jan has to wake me up or one of the dogs wander in and touches me with a wet nose to rouse me from my slumbers……I am sure that in both cases….Jan’s and the dog’s…my snoring alerts them that I am about to fall out of the chair and, so, they mercifully come to my rescue.
So, even though I am as impatient as I can be to get this book printed and out there I have to be realistic in that I’m not done with it. But, two or three days and I will print the proof to review and then to market we will go.
Prince of Dan is growing with my edits as I reveal information not in the foundation work. So, should be interesting to you who have already read it as I’m painting in more detail.
Best regards to you all. Gordon.
|WOW IF THIS ISN’T TRUEA Doctor from Israel says: “In Israel the medicine is so advanced that we cut off a man’s testicles; we put them into another man, and in 6 weeks he is looking for work.”
The German doctor comments: “That’s nothing, in Germany we take part of the brain out of a person; we put it into another person’s head, and in 4 weeks he is looking for work.”
A Russian doctor says: “That’s nothing either. In Russia we take out half of the heart from a person; we put it into another person’s chest, and in 2 weeks he is looking for work.”
The U.S. Doctor answers immediately: “That’s nothing my colleagues, you are way behind us. In the USA , about a year ago we grabbed a person with no brains, no heart, and no balls,
we made him President of the United States , now the whole country is looking for work!”
|First let me say thanks for the wonderful comments I’ve received. My hope is that my productions bear up to what everyone expects. I am really excited about this and hope it all works out.
The page total on The Widows’ Cliff and Other Poems has increased to 126. There currently are 26 poems in it. The longest I believe is Lady at a Table in the Mall which is 16 pages.
I tried to determine if I have a favorite, but I don’t. Each one is unique to me and occupies its own special place in my life.I believe I need to offer once more to those of you who do not wish to be on this mailing list or if you are receiving this at work and it violates your employment rules for email please let me know so I can remove you. And, in the end, not everyone likes poetry, so I can assure you I won’t be offended if you ask me to remove you from the mailing. I want you to be on the list only if you wish to be on it, not because I want you to be here.
Best to you this morning, Gordon.
|Hi. I have an ISBN number for The Widows’ Cliff and Other Poems and now waiting to see a proof on the book so I can review to make sure I don’t have any errors in it. While waiting I have written several other poems as for some reason my mind is racing with ideas. I am also working hard on editing The Prince of Dan and I think those of you who read for me will be happy to see it in its final form as I am more fully developing characters and their traits, surroundings, and relationships with others. I am really enjoying this and hope you will be as excited as I will be when finished.
I do have to tell you that I started a poem while walking Suzie on Sunday morning and I was overwhelmed with emotion so strong it took over an hour for me to finally calm down so I could actually speak in a complete sentence to Jan who followed me around the house trying to calm me. I’ve never experienced anything like that before. I doubt that I’ll actually be able to write the poem as I cannot get past the first few lines without being ripped apart with feelings. It is too bad as I would like to share that with you, but have an incredibly hard time just writing the title. And, I think those of you who know me well know I am not prone to such strong emotions.
So, we shall see, but I doubt I’ll be able to write it.
So, will keep you posted on the books.
Thanks to those of you who replied to me so far.
|Dear everyone: I am setting up a means of writing to a bunch of people all at once with my poetry that I think might be interested in it. If you aren’t, then just let me know and I will pull you off of my list. I am currently working on publishing a 70 page book of poems which should retail on Amazon and Barnes & Noble for $12.95. Please let me know if you are interested in a signed copy.
I cannot believe how incredible this little girl is. She literally takes my breath away with her singing,

If I had a beer I’d share. BUT fair warning: Some of my poetry tends to be on the dark side….not evil…..just, in some cases, it would be a good idea to not have sharp instruments nearby. I don’t write to shock or make someone worry about my mental condition. I write in a fever. The words come in a rush, so fast at times I cannot keep up and then have to edit again and again to get it right. So, enough, there are three of my poems there out of a collection of close to a hundred. I intend on publishing a book soon and this happens to be a birthing zone of sorts for ideas. You may not like one or two poems, but I am sure you will find many of mine you will fall in love with and if not then I understand ane will not be offended if you don’t subscribe.
